Steve Nicolas, lead vocals, acoustic guitar

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Steve (Fisher) Nicolas has been making music for 25 years, acting as a singer, songwriter, and guitar player. His previous projects include frontman of The Venom Cure, Nicolas, and Crash 16 (all original music). He’s published two EPs and six singles released under The Venom Cure and Steve Nicolas.

Tim Borek, guitar, bg vocals

Born in South Bend, Tim Borek began his musical journey as a classical violinist in South Carolina. At 15, he began teaching himself electric guitar, inspired by Kiss, Van Halen, and Pink Floyd. In 1995, Tim moved to Indianapolis and co-founded the bands Pure-X and Never Wonder (1998-2002). Later guitar gigs would come with Rocket to Nowhere (2015-2017), Identity Crisis (2019-2023), and Paradise City (2024). Tim lives in Westfield, Indiana.

Jeff Kern, bass, bg vocals

Originally from Pendleton, Indiana, Jeff Kern has been playing bass guitar since age 17. Some of the central Indiana bands he played in prior to Throwback Theory include Repeat & Fade, Day Job Blues, The Echo Station, and Wired 4 Sound.
